About:Chinese Embassy in Germany

I am a US Citizen living in Germany. My two daughters and I will be visiting Shanghai, leaving Germany on Feb 3, 2010 for 15 days. Where do we need to apply for our Chinese Visas? What is required for this process and the timeframe involved. Thank you!
