About:How to Take

Hi!
I have a new question : can a place in a train be booked easily just one day before at the departure station for any train destination in China or are there lines which it is advisable to book in advance (how much in advance?). I indeed plan to go from one point to another by train probably in april (avoiding first week of april) in many parts of China starting from Beijing and moving south in many area (Sichuan, etc.) and booking trains at the last moments. Is it possible to proceed like this?
Furtheremore, are there prohibited items when you travel by train and can the luggage by stored near any booked place in the train (for exemple above/under the seats/cabin beds?) so you can have a look on them from your place?
Thanks very much for any response.

hi blanchet

Apr is not a very hot season for train travel, but you are still suggested to purchase train tickets in advance, like 3-5 days prior to the departure. Usually, the tickets for weekends are in great demand. Soft sleeper tickets are also hard to get as they are fewer. While anyway, it should be not a problem. Good Luck.

Oh yes, some iterms are not allowed to take on the train, like gas, coal oil, banger, detonator, poison, animals and so on.
