About:Chinese Embasy in Ireland

Hi, I am plan to China for a year in May/June. I have to use a moisturizer called 'Calmurid Cream' which I can buy over the counter in any pharmacy in Ireland. However, I have been told by a friend in China who owns 3 pharmacys there, that I will not be able to buy the cream in China so I will have to take a year's supply with me when I go. I have searched online to see if I could buy the cream in China but so far it has proved impossible. I would therefore need to take 500g for every month which is about 6kg of cream for the whole year!! So I am wondering is there any restrictions on the amount of cream I can take? It was recommended to me by my Dermatologist so I could easily get a letter from him saying I need it for my skin on medical grounds. I also take other medications that I would have to bring in a large supply if I was to stay in China for the year without returning home. I could also get Doctor's letters for these. Would the letters be enough? Thanks for your help :).

I don't think you can bring such a large amount of cream to China, the airport security checkpoint will check your luggage.
