About:China Tourist Visa

I have a 2 part question that I can't seem to find an answer for and I would greatly appreciate help. The first part is that I have depression, and I'm a disabled american, (from juvinile arthritis and epilepsy) Would this be a serious factor in getting approved for a first time chinese tourist visa (the L visa)? And second part, they mention hotel booking but my girlfriend in china would want me to stay with her, not only to avoid costly hotel stays but to be closer together for the 30 days we have. Is there a specific format we should put her invitation letter in to me if she needs to send me one? Any examples of one that would be acceptable by the chinese consolate would be great. Thanks in advance :)

I think that epilepsy will affects the result of your application, you don't mention it on the visa application form, but you can't get ill in China if you get a Chinese visa this time to enter China, otherwise, you maybe will in the blacklist, it is very difficult to enter China in the next years. As I know, USA citizens only need submit their passport, one completed visa application form, then they can get a visa, therefore, the invitation letter is not necessary.
