About:Guilin Travel

I will be going to Guilin on 28th Dec until 31st Dec 09. I know that it is not a very good time to visit b`cos of the low water in Li river. But I hope that the boat cruise still operate. I would like to know the electric power voltage in Guilin. Is it the same as in Japan? Need to charge my camera and etc. And what the currency exchange rate from Yen to RMB nowadays. And how much do I need to prepared for the shopping food ...etc. Also is it easy to change RMB in Guilin? Any bank near by. Also at night, is it safe to walk around the town. Beside Mandarin, what is the local dialect in Guilin.
Thank you.

1. the cruise should be in operation although the voyage will be a little shorter.
2. the elctric power voltage in Guilin is 220V, different from Japan's. Usually, the star-rated hotels supply transformer
3. you could convert currency at https://www.travelchinaguide.com/tour/currency-converter.htm
4. just for shopping and food, I think 2000~5000is enough. It is easy to find a Bank in Guilin for money exchange. On the other hand, these hotels also supplies exchange, although the rate is not very satisfied.
5. Please take it easy! This city is safe at night, but don't too late!
6. the local dialect varies in different regions. Anyway, Mandarin is understood well througout these touristy places.
