About:Shangri-La Weather

Hello, We will be visitng Shangri-La over the Christmas holidays ths year and wondering how cold will it be there. Travelling from Kunming and Lijiang, the weather should be relatively cool but we are bringing warm clothes for about up to 5C and wonder if we should bring much warmer clothes.
How bad is the drive up to Shangri-La as we were advised that the mountain sickness can be quite bad.
Regards
Tok

It is now -10 to 10C in SHangri-La now. Very cold at night and in early mornign and better at noon. It will be colder later on. Kunming and Lijiang is much warmer. So, you still need to bring warmer clothes for Shangri-La. It takes about 4 hours from Lijiang to Shangri-La. I guess the sickness is also caused by the high altitude. Prepare some medicine. Better to rent a comfortable van from Lijiang to Shangri-La.
