About:K Trains

Hi,
My friend and I will be in Kunming from 2 Dec to 8 Dec 09. We are planning to visit places around Kunming and then proceed to Dali and Lijiang. Please advise

1) How many days we should spend in Kunming? Dali? and Lijiang?
2) What is the best routing: Kunming --> Dali then Lijiang or Kunming - Lijiang then Dali?
3) What is the best way from Kunming to Dali and Lijiang? by bus, train or airplane?

FYI, our main purpose is to visit the natural and historic scenes and taking photos (both of us are amateur photographers)

I am a natiave girl from Kunming, maybe I can give you some useful advice.
I strongly recommand Lijiang for the breathtaking scenery and the peaceful atmosphere in Dayan old city. As for Kunming and Dali, I think the time can be shorter.
Kunming-Dali-Lijiang is the best routing I think.
It will take you about 7 or 8 hours from Kunming to Lijiang by bus. Dali is in the middle of the two cities. And travel by train won't be quicker, so it's up to you.

You could book a youth hostel. It is easily to find one in Yunnan.
