About:Chinese Consulate in Sydney

Hi, I'm traveling to The Gambia and need to go through Beijing and will arrive there 0550 in the morning and leaving there at 1330pm on the same day. I'm currently holding The Gambia passport and traveling with my Husband who's Australian passport holder. I wanted to know if i need to apply for visa to transit in Beijing?

You don't need a visa for this transit if you don't go out of the airport in Beijing.

PS: Visas are not required of aliens who hold final destination tickets and have booked seats on international airliners flying directly through China, and will stay in a transit city for less than 24 hours without leaving the airport.
