Hi,I am going to Shanghai with my husband and three kind ages 8 to 16 and mother who is 75 years old.  We understand a few Chinese language and know some street as we have been there once.We would like to go around on our own.  Is it possible to hire a taxi or van on the airport and tolet that same van or taxi take us for the tour around Shanghai for our 7 days' stay? Or would you suggest we take package tours?Your suggestion would really help a lot.  thank you.Shirley

I suggest you take a package tour, as there are youngers and older in your group. Take a package tour can save you the trouble and the guide and driver can take good care you, although it would be a little expensive.
