About:Chinese Embassy in Japan

Hello, I`m a Ukrainian citizen (going to marry an American citizen in Japan. For that I`m required to collect the criminal records (better say, the proof that I don`t have any) from the places I`ve been living for the past 10 years. I lived in China for 5 years, which means I need the documents from the Chinese police. Is it possible to obtain them in the Embassy of China in Tokyo? What should I bring to apply for my "non-criminal" proof? Can it be done through the consulate? Thank you very much!
