About:Chinese Embassy in Japan

I will visit Shanghai on a tourist trip for 4 days, traveling from Tokyo. I have dual citizenship, Swedish and British. Is the visa application fee the same for either country? A couple of month ago I entered China from Hongkong with my British passport and at the boarder when applying for a one day visa I had to pay twice as much for the visa as my Swedish friends.
Also what documents are required for a visa? Do you need a photo?
Thank you for your help.

You need the following documents:
1. your passport with blank pages and at least 6 months validity left before expiration.
2. A truly and completely filled application form affixed with one passport-sized photo.
3. Round-trip air ticket
4. Hotel reservation.
5. Japanese Residence permit or valid record of your entry to japan from Japanese administration.
