About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.

Does the 48 hour "visa free transit" for Pudong airport apply if I am flying into Pudong the day before a cruise that will sail out of Shanghai, China the following evening ?
Would it also apply 7 days later for a same day return trip from Shanghai port to Pudong and back to the USA ?
I am looking into a cruise that would have me fly to Pudong, cruise to Japan and Korea for the next 7 days. On the last day the cruise ship would dock back in Shanghai and I intend to travel to Pudong and fly back to the USA on the same day.

Mr.MR.G, Visa is not required for USA CITIZENS, who transit through Pudong Airport, provided they hold valid passports, visas for the onward countries, final destination tickets and have booked seats, and stay in Shanghai for less than 48 hours. But I'm not sure whether you need a visa or not in your situation because you go to Pudong airport first, then go to a port. You'd better contact the airline company or cruise company to ensure it.
