About:Mutianyu Great Wall

Does bus 936 goes direct to Mutianyu? Why does the website state that need to change to hired car at Huairou?

How long is the journey by 936 and 916? I read from other forum that it take about 3 years by bus. Is it true? How about by taxi?

The bus no.936 has many branch lines that go to different directions. Some go to Huairou bus station, some go to Hongluo Temple or Jiugukou, and there is a tour line of bus 936 that goes directly to Mutianyu. So you should ask the bus driver or ticket seller before getting on the bus to make sure the bus goes to Mutianyu.

It takes about 2 to 3 hours from Beijing to Mutianyu, depends on the traffic. If you go there by taxi, it is a little bit faster but more expensive, about 300-400 yuan.

The 916 bus is much more reliable than the 936 bus.
