About:China Visa

I am an American citizen living in Northern Japan with a few questions. I want to get a Chinese visa, but Tokyo is really far away from where I live. I was wondering if you knew of any place that would let me apply for a Chinese visa in northern Japan (Tohoku).

Also, I read that I need to turn in flight and hotel information with the application. Would a print-out from the internet do, or do I need an official document with signatures and all that?
