About:Ta'er Monastery

my wife entered china in july on a 30 day L visa, we have just completed her first extension. we are worried we cannot get a second extension (around oct) because of the PRC anniversary. after reading some post we read about applying for multiple entry thru HK. We were thinking of getting F but a multiple in HK would be cheaper. does anybody or can anybody advice us on the cuurent visa situation. can we get a second extension and then after that apply and get a multiple entry in HK (Oct 09 after the anniversary)? we are based around southern china and frequenrly go ro guangzhou and shenzhen

Generally speaking, it is easy to get the first extension, it is hard to get the second extension, at the same time, the 60th anniversary of PR China is close, the visa policy will be tightened, so I guess it is difficult to get the second extension. You can go to HK to apply for a new China visa.

anybodys guess on the odds for getting another visa in hong kong? they seemed strict about it unless you already had prior china visa. now that we have one, will the 60 year anniversary make it hard even in Hong Kong?

Are you a Chinese? If yes, since you and your wife are married, you can try to apply for visiting-relative visa for her (category: L). It is different from normal tourist visa. It can be longer.
