greetings!
can i ask if we need visa or the like to get into shenzen? we'll be arriving in HOngkong august 22, and on the 23rd we're planning to go to shenzen.

Yes, you have to apply for a China visa to enter into Shenzhen from Hk. If you just visit the Special Economic Zone of Shenzhen for less than 5 days, you could apply an onsite visa at the customs ports from HK to Shenzhen conveniently. Otherwise, it is suggested that you apply for a China Visa before leaving.
