About:China Flight

Hallo, I am resident of Sweden. I am planning a roundtrip in China, which I plan to do mostly by airplane. It starts with booking tha flight Beijing-Lijiang on Sept 3. If I go and book directly Beijing to Lijiang, it gives me just one flight: 7:55-13:10 for USD 362. It has a stopover in Kunming.

However, if I go in myself and book individually eg the flights Beijing-Kunming and Kunming-Lijiang, or Beijing-Chengdu and Chengdu-Lijiang, I get a much wider selection and even better price if I buy the two parts as two tickets.

Is there any reason why not book the two parts separately - such as eg Beijing-Chengdu 15:00-17:30 for USD118 and Chengdu-Lijiang 19:25-20:35 for USD126?

Thank you for advice.

Of course, it is better and more economical to book the tickets separately such as Beijing-Kunming, Kunming- Lijiang or Beijing-Chengdu and Chengdu-Lijiang. You have more selections on the flights and I suggest you arrange 2 to 3 hours for the transfer.
