About:Chinese Embassy in Switzerland

We are 4 persons planning a trip to China in October. We are two Spanish and two Portuguese.

We live around Geneva in the neighbour France (just across the border) but two of us work in Geneva at CERN (international organisation) so we have a Swiss work permit.

The other two persons are our wives:

- one is presently not working so she does not have any swiss document.

- The other has just left an international organisation in Switzerland and therefore is in the process of getting a Swiss permit, so she has a temporary paper that proves she is asking the permit

My question is: Is this enough to ask for the Chinese VISA in the Chinese consulat in Switzerland or we will be obliged to go to Spain and Portugal (or maybe Paris) to get a VISA in the local embassy there ?

It would be of great help if we could arrange everything in BERN avoiding an expensive trip to Portugal or Spain, or Paris.

Thank you for your kind help
