About:Chinese Embassy in Philippines

is it true that you can't travel china even as a tourist if your passport doesn't have any visa proof that you've been to other country?

No, you can apply for a tourist L visa to visit China, only if your passport are with atl east 6 months validity and 2 blank pages. However, if you use a new passport for the application, you may be required to apply for it in person.
