About:Apply for China Visa in a Third Country

I am currently sailing with my husband (who is a seaman on an international cargo ship). We plan to sign off at the next port of call, Guangdong, China. We do not currently have a valid Chinese visa. Our stay in Guangdong will be for a few hours, till we board our flight to India. We have been told by the ship's agent in China that Indian citizens need to apply for a transit visa which will take 5 days to process once the original passport and other papers are submitted. I would like to know if my husband and I are eligible for the crew visa (as opposed to the transit visa) and if it is faster to get a crew visa than a transit visa. Secondly, can we avail the same-day service for either the crew visa or the transit visa thereby reducing the processing time? Any help would be highly appreciated.

Yes, you need to apply for a transit visa to Gaungzhou. I advise you apply for transit visa, and it only takes one working dday if you choose the rush service, but you have to pay additionlal fee for that.
