Yes, many sections of the Great Wall is very dangerous, such as Simatai and Jiankou, where the wall skirts the bottomless abyss. Some careless and audacious visitors entered the hazardous areas and caused the tragedy. So, please DO NOT enter the undeveloped scenic site, and always remember that SAFETY comes first!0
