About:China Visa Renewal and Extension

I am going to teach Engish in Jiangxi's rural areas (two to three hours from Ganzhou) for 4-5 weeks and my family will join me to tour in China for additional two weeks. I only got a 30 day multiple entry visa. I am supposed to extend my visa 5-10 days before my visa expires in Jiangxi. Where should I go for the extension? Is there a place for me to extend my visa in a local village? or Should I go to Ganzhou (a bigger city) instead? Some people suggested that the Shanghai visa office is more reliable than local offices. Is this true? I am also affraid that officers in local visa offices may not be able to speak sufficient english. I only have 2-3 days in Shianghai before I leave for Jiangxi. People also suggested that I could extend my visa when I get back to Shianghai, but my Visa would be expired for 4-5 days. Would it be a problem if I were to extend my visa then? What is your advice?

You can get the visa extended (actually apply for a new visa) at the Entry and Exit Administration Office of Public Security Bureau.
