About:Chinese Embassy in Belgium

When I apply a tourist visa, do I need to leave my passpost at the consular office or can I keep it?

Just a short question:

When I ask for a tourist visa, do I need to leave my passpost at the consular office or can I keep it? I need to apply for a visa this week, but I have to leave Belgium for the weekend and I need my passport.

You have to leave your passport at the consulate office since the visa will be stamped on the visa pages of the passport.
