About:China Train

Mr.LL and Ms.flora.
Thank you for the information.
My daughter and I will have US passports and Chinese visas.
Our group will have a Chinese guide and another
Chinese citizen with us for a total of 4.
We are tourests, not journalists or diplomates.
We do not need a travel agency to ride a train.
Please respond.

Hello~ As Flora mentioned, foreign travelers can not visit Tibet by themselves without the arranged tour via a travel agency. Also, you can not get the Tibet Travel Permit by yourself. Besides, the Permit is required when you boarding the flight ot train to Lhasa. So, it would be better if you can book a tour via a well-known travel agency. Hope you will have a good time in China!

Hello, Mr. Ruppert. As far as I know, it is difficult for you to obtain your Tibet Travel Permit by yourself. The application process may be too complicated and strict. Without this permit, the staff at the railway station may not be able to sell you the tickets. So does the airport. Hope this message can help.
