About:China Visa Renewal and Extension

I'm similar to Mrs. Ventura. I hold and L visa with 1 entry allowed into China and I'm on my first 1 month extension. I got my first extension in Haikou City. I needed a police report and I got my Chinese girlfriend to help me out. I want to marry my girlfriend but I am waiting for a Certificate of No Impediment from my home country - New Zealand and I'm not sure how long this will take but it won't be quick. I live in Guangzhou and I am having trouble getting the police report here for the second extension because my girlfriend's ID card is registered as Haikou City and this might cause problems for her. Also, Haikou City extensions are apparently problematic now. If I go to Hong Kong for the second one-month extension will they give it to me or will I be stranded there?

Mr.Taylor, if you go to Hong Kong, you can reapply for a new L visa rather than the second one-month extension. Please apply in the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affaires of China in the Hong Kong SAR, for more details, please look through the website http://www.fmcoprc.gov.hk/eng/zgqz/
