About:China Train

I'm planning to arrive to beijing from jakarta at 07.20. Then I'm going to take D31 train to Shanghai at 11.05. Do I need to buy ticket in the station directly or can I book the tickets? If so, where to book and how much? If I need to buy directly in the station, do you think 3 hours are enough from Beijing airport to train station? How long will it take? Thanks!

There are D31 and D301 from Beijing to Shanghai, please note that D31 departs from Beijing South Railway station, while the latter from Beijing railway station.

I guess there will be no much problem buying tickets when you arrive. The D trains ticket price is a little higher compare with other options, so at present tickets is easy to get. The soft sleeper is 730 yuan and soft seat should be around 540 yuan.

Three hours are quite enough. I suggest you buy the ticket at the railway station. D31 is a bullet train. It takes about ten hours from Beijing to Shanghai. Ps: Remember to go to the Beijing South Railway Station to take it.
