About:Chinese Embassy in Canada

Ni hao,
I am a canadian citizen by birth. I am presently a practicing attorney in the province of Quebec. I wish to retire in May 2009. At that time I wish to go to China. A chinese Lady is waiting for me in China and we will be married. Is it possible for me to obtain a single Visa for more then 3 months? Will I be able to ask for a prolongation of my Visa, when I am in China? As I will be married with a native chinese Lady from China, will it be possible for me to extend my Visa in order to stay with my Lady for many years? Should I decide that I would like to teach secondary foreign language, e.i. French and/or English, will I be able to ask for permission directly in China?
Thank you for your assistance.

Prolongation of your visa? A Chinese single visa has a vality of 3 months. After the entry, the duration of your each stay is 30 days. I assume you want to extend your duration of stay in China. After getting married with your girl, you can apply for a dependent visa and stay for a long period.

Ni hao,
I have written to your embassy to obtain information about visas to China. The answer came from, Mr. Diamond (AU). With all due respect to this gentleman, I do not believe that he should refer to my wife to be as: "YOUR GIRL". It is familiar and gives a bad conotation to my wife to be, whatever this gentleman thinks about interracial relationships. My Chinese Lady, as a matter of fact, is the chief editor of a Chinese news paper.
I do resent your familiarity...
