About:Chinese Embassy in Canada

to apply for a visa, do we need to go to the embassy in person? and if we go in person to the embassy with an application will we get the visa on the same day?
Do we need a visa entry when travelling to Hong Kong ?

You can get the visa on the same day by the payment of additional fee.
(RUSH FEE)
(To pick up in the same day 11:00-12:30） 50 Canadian Dollars
(To pick up the next day or the day after) 35

Is it necessary at attend the Embassy in person to obtain a visa or can it be done by having another present the visa application form on behalf of the applicants ?

You can ask another person to submit the visa application form on your behalf.
