people were buried in the wall, and soem were buried alive because they did not work hard or fast enough. The wall was carried out for many dynastys, to keep out, originally, the Huns and the Mongals. The wall is called the largest graveyard by the chinese culture. There are many different parts to the wall, too. Not all are joined, however, most became joined over time.

That claim has never been proven, either by evidence or by documentation, and it flies in the face of the very careful construction techniques used especially by the Ming Dynasty.
