About:Famen Temple

I'm a swiss passport holder. I would like to travel from Laos to shanghai on land.
From there i'll take a ferry to japan.
I'll buy the ferry ticket in shanghai.
Is it enough if I just show a timetable of the ferry and tell them that I cannot buy the ferry ticket online?
Do I really need an invitation?
I heard a that in some countries I cannot apply. I should apply in my home country.
How about Singpore and Thailand?
Does also takes just 4 days for swiss people?

Thanks alot for a answer

It is OK to show them your timetable of the ferry. You can apply for the visa in Singapore and Thailand.
It takes four working days.(weekends shouldn't be included).

Thxs 4 ur answer!
Today I went to the embassy in Singapore.
I explained them that I travel over land.
Cannot show an airplane ticket.
After talking with 2 different people of the embassy they told me they can't give me a visa;-(
He told me something about the tourist institution (or something similar) would have to prove first.
I guess they just didn't really understood my trip.
Maybe next time I should show them my exact plan.
Which bus, train, ferry. from where exactly and so on...
Will try it in Thailand again.
I also didn't really get it if I need an invitation or not. Maybe it's better to have one. Just to be on the save side...

Mr. Sepp, I always thought that it wouldn't be so much troublesome to apply for a visa a third country.
They told you something about the tourist institution have to prove it first? Do they ask you to enstrust a travel agency to apply on your behalf? I am confused. Let me know how your application goes on. My brother-in-law is in a similar situation to yours.

I will try it again in Kuala Lumpur.
Or at least in Thailand.
I guess I've to show them my exact travel plans and a invitation could be good. They just didn't get it why I wanna travel without airplane.
