Dear John,
I am glad to read this message on the requirement of informaion of Kaili attractions.
Many places around Kaili is worth your time to mill around. Traditional markets which held in turn of five or six days circle, is half an hour to two hours to reach by local bus. In these markets women in traditional clothes are seen, the things they bring from the villages are exchanged in the market, these are indigo they need to dye their cloth, chicken they take home to offer for worship, handwoven textile they sew for their family, silk floss they could do embroidry, etc.
Besides the market, also festivals are also held during this time of the year. Rain-worship ritual is held on Augest 5th of this year in the south of Kaili, there you will see traditional rain-worship, Dong people's music, singing and dancing under their Drum towers, indigo-dyed pleated skirts and festival jackets applied with silver ornaments.
During this summer time, it is a short free time for the work in the fields, locals of Miao and Dong will arrange bullfights and some more festivals, such as Eating-new-rice festival. this is held almost everywhere in the south of Kaili
