About:Chinese Embassy in Canada

We are going to China in April,2009.We will be in Shanghai, April 21, Beijing, April 21-22, return to Shanghai on April 22, depart for a cruise on April 24 that includes Hong Kong, Xiamen, Cambodia, Thailand and fly home May 11,2009 from Singapore to Hong Kong to Toronto, Canada.Do we need a single or multiple entry visa and what is the cost. Thank you.

You need a multiple entry visa. If you get a multiple entry visa with 6 months validity, the fee is 100 Canadian dollars. If you get a multiple entry visa with 12 months validity, the fee is 150 Canadian dollars.

Because Hong Kong and Mainland of China (except Hong Kong and Macau)apply different immigrant controls, so from mainland of China to hong Kong then return to mainland of China, it is two entries.
First Entry(From Canada to Mainland of China: Shanghai, Beijing)
Second Entry(From Mainland of China: Shanghai to Hong Kong)
Third Entry (from Hong Kong to Mainland of China: Xiamen)
