The Mutianyu section of the Great Wall is just wonderful. The peace that you feel as you walk and climb is simple uplifting. The crowds are not there to battle with and despite the steepness of the stairs it is very rewarding to reach the peak section. I managed to climb the many varying steps despite recovering from recent knee surgery. It is absolutely worth it.

will visit beijing end of march. cannot decide between badaling and mutianyu tours of great wall. do u know pro/cons of each one? what about changeling portion of ming tomb vs. dangeling?? or underground palace of ming? thx.

Mrs Ruby.. I was at Badaling two years ago March, the throngs of tourists was overwhelming.. I've heard that Mutianyu is much nicer!
