What is the difference between a 24 hour transit without visa vs. 10 day visa free travel for airport layover.
Can I get my visa changed without paying fines, having to leave the country, and or lose two weeks of non refundable hotel reservations.
I bought a trip for the 30-day visa free in Hainan, China and I had an 8-hour layover in Chengdu, China. I thought I applied for the 24-hour transit without visa. Instead, they gave me a 10 day visa free in China. After staying at my hotel in Hainan, China on the 14th day the police said I overstayed my Visa and I need to pay fines. I have no more money to pay the fines until the end of the month when I usually get paid. I will have to pay for a flight to leave China early, the overstay fines, & new visa application which may not get approved. Additionally, I will not get a refund on the other 15 days of my hotel.
Can I get the visa changed without being charged all of the fines?
