Do I need a visa to travel to Schenzhen on a train for a day trip from Hong Kong.

I have a South African passport and I do not require a visa for Hong Kong. I would like to go to Shenzhen for 1 day from Hong Kong. I will return to Hong Kong on the same day. I have already booked train tickets for the trip. What visa do I require? Can I apply for a visa on arrival?

Sorry you cannot apply for Shenzhen 5-day visa on arrival if by train as no railway port is eligible for the VOA. You can only apply at Luohu, Huanggang and Shekou Port, which means you need to take HK MTR to Lo Wu to get it at Luohu Port in Shenzhen, take a bus to Huanggang Port or take a ferry to Shekou Port to get it.
