About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

240 hours free visa for Indonesian Citizen

According to Chinese immigration regulations, Indonesian citizens can enjoy a visa-free transit period of up to 240 hours (10 days) with the requirement of having a valid passport, a CONTINUING PLANE TICKET TO A THIRD COUNTRY (not back to Indonesia), and transit through a designated airport/port. If I change it to ENTER mainland China first by train from Hong Kong West Kowloon (Third Country) to Guangzhou and fly back from Baiyun Airport Gungzhou DIRECTLY to Indonesia (NOT TO A THIRD COUNTRY), is it eligible?

Yes, Hong Kong - mainland China - Indonesia is definitely eligible for 240 hour visa free transit. You have perfectly understood the rule and you can use this itinerary to enjoy 240 hours (10 days) in mainland China absolutely visa free. Also, I confirm that it is allowed to enter mainland China by train from Hong Kong West Kowloon station. You should just arrive roughly 90 - 120 minutes ahead of your planned departure from West Kowloon station because there you will clear both Hong Kong and mainland China immigration formalities because they are both co-located on the same premises of this train station. Have a nice visit to China.
