About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

240-hour China transit for Guizhou and Sichuan

I am a Czech passport holder. My planned itinerary is as follows:

I will fly from Budapest to Hong Kong via Beijing. I will stay in Hong Kong for 2 nights. After that, I plan to fly from Hong Kong to Guiyang, where I intend to travel for 10 days within Guizhou and Sichuan provinces. For my return journey, I will fly from Chengdu to Budapest via Beijing.

Does the 240-hour visa-free transit allow me to enter China from Hong Kong and travel in both Guizhou and Sichuan provinces?

Thank you for your clarification.

Your itinerary is definitely eligible for 240 hour visa free transit (your first landing in China via Beijing will be covered by 24 hour visa free transit and is unrelated with your later itinerary that you will enjoy in China under 240 hour visa free transit) and you do not need any kind of visa.

It is important to understand that not all of Sichuan is allowed for a visit when traveling on 240 hour visa free transit. The area in Sichuan allowed for a visit when traveling on 240 hour visa free transit are covered by the territories of the following cities: Chengdu, Zigong, Luzhou, Deyang, Suining, Neijiang, Leshan, Yibin, Ya'an, Meishan and Ziyang. You can see that area painted in green on the following website, please, copy and paste the link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visa_policy_of_mainland_China#/media/File:Maps_of_eligible_areas_to_stay_by_TWOV_in_China.png . I wish you a nice visit to China.
