About:China Travel Tips

Hi, I am planning a solo 10 days in Guizhou

starting from the eve of Labor Day (30 Apr 2019) before departing to Shaoguan (end tail of my trip) to visit my relatives. Unexpectedly, China added the extra holidays from 2nd to 4th May, which added peak period to my trip...:(

There are many nice places in Guizhou but all the sights are so widely spread-out. I have some high-level idea the places I wanted to visit, but need to plan the route and days for it.

A couple of considerations:
1. 10 days really enough for me to travel all over these places?
2. Between places, where to find the buses/trains stations?
3. Recommended places to stay?
4. I am open to set Guiyang as the main transport hub to travel to and fro between places if that is the best approach.

Greatly appreciate any suggestion! Thanks.

Interested Places (Please add sights that I should not miss, or should miss):
1. Guiyang (Jiaxiu, Qingyan, Hongfu Temple, Qianling Park), Optional: Hongfeng Lake (not sure if worth since it is spring)
2. Libo (Daqikong, Xiaoqikong)
3. Kaili (Xijiang Miao Village, Langde Miao Village)
4. Anshun (Huangguoshu + Dragon Cave), Optional: Pingba Cherry Blossom Fields (not sure still have flowers in bloom)
5. Chisui (Foguangyan Scenic Spot, Shizhangdong Waterfalls)
6. Zhengyuan (Zhenyuan Ancient Town, Qinglong Cave)
7. Tongren (Fanjing Mountain National Nature Reserve)
8. Shiqian (Shiqian Hotspring)
9. Bijie (Zhijin Cave Scenic Area, Baili Azalea Reserve)
10. Xingyi (The Maling River Canyon) - Should I miss this?

1. No, 10 days are not enough to cover all the scenic spots and you need to spend some time on the way, especially if you go different cities. It is better to arrange at most 2 spots one day and cut some cities.

2. You need to simplify your routes and determine the city orders, then search for the transportation. e.g. From Guiyang to Libo, you can take a bus from Longdongbao Bus Terminal.

3. In Guiyang, you can stay near the railway station, since it is easy to take trains to other cities.

4. It is available to set Guiyang as main transport hub, then try to visit the cities nearby or those easy to access.

Hi Liam,

Thanks. It is indeed tough to manage my extreme expectations in 10 days. I have revised my plans to drop off sights of lower priority.
