About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

240 hour visa free transit

My family and I (two adults two childrenI) have just booked a trip to Asia. I am seeking confirmation for peace of mind that my trip qualifies for China’s 240 hour visa free transit with our US passports.
My trip is as follows :
San Francisco SFO -> Hong Kong HKG (5 days) -> Shanghai PVG (5 days) -> Tokyo NRT (5 days) -> San Francisco SFO

The sole purpose of our trip is to visit all the Disneyland parks. An official confirmation would be greatly appreciated. Please let me know if in fact I do need to apply for a visa for Shanghai.

Your itinerary is a textbook example of eligible itinerary for 240 hour visa free transit. You do not need a visa of any kind. I understand that the purpose of your travel is to visit Disneyland, but you are not limited to Shanghai only. This visa free transit scheme is more liberal than that. In any case I wish you a wonderful visit to China.
