About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Travel to Chongqing

Hi, I'm looking for tickets to fly to Chongqing airport and I would like my trip to be elegible for the 240h-free-visa. I have been ofered by my agency Spain-France-Chongqing-France, I guess this is not elegible for this type of vis isn't it?

Correct, this is not eligible. The basic rule of 240 hour visa free transit scheme requires that the immediate points before and after mainland China have to be in two different countries or eligible territories (eligible territories are Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau). As you can see both of your immediate points are in one country - France.

By the way, Javier, if you are Spanish citizen you do not have to bother yourself with visa free transit stuff because the Spanish citizens can enter China absolutely visa free for up to 30 days. You can travel to China in the same way as you can travel to UK. In other words, you can free retain your itinerary since you are not a subject of 240 hour visa free transit rules. Hope this helps.
