About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

eligible route?

I'm an US citizen and wanted to make sure this route is eligible for 240 hour visa free transit? I wasn't sure if the transit in Shanghai is allowed. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Jan 16 San Francisco to Taipei
Jan 19 Taipei to Changsha (transit in Shanghai)
Jan 22 Changsha to Seoul
Jan 23 Seoul to Taipei
Jan 28 Taipei to San Francisco

Yes, your route (itinerary) is definitely and undeniably eligible for 240 hour visa free transit and you do not need any kind of visa. Under 240 hour visa free transit you are allowed to cross the Chinese provincial borders, so a stop in Shanghai is totally acceptable. Here I have to inform you that you will perform all the immigration and other formalities at the first stop in China, in your case in Shanghai. In other words your flight from Shanghai to Changsha will be purely a domestic one. Have a nice visit to China.
