240 day visa?

I am visiting relatives in Hong Kong in December, flights LHR-HK-LHR. I would like to accompany them on a two day trip from HK to Shenzen (flight/travel and accommodation details unknown at present). Do I need a visa for China or does this fall under the 240 day visa (is this another visa or an exemption from a visa?).

You need to leave the transfer area to T2, so you need to get the 24h temporary entry permit or a visa-free entry as a Norwegian, probably a free entry as the temporary permit is normally for passengers with a stopover of more than 8 hours.
