Unfortunately, your itinerary is not eligible for 240 hour visa free transit because it does not comply with the basic rule of this visa free transit scheme. The basic rule of 240 hour visa free transit scheme requires that the immediate points before and after mainland China have to be in two different countries or eligible territories (eligible territories are Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau), but in your case, the immediate points are located in just one country - Singapore. An eligible itinerary would be, for example a scheme like Indonesia - mainland China - Singapore - Indonesia or Indonesia - mainland China - Hong Kong - Indonesia or Singapore - Thailand - mainland China - Singapore. As you can see, the immediate points are always located in two different countries or eligible territories. That is the essence. So, if you can arrange an itinerary in that way, you will be eligible for 240 hour visa free transit and no visa is needed. I wish you can do that. Have a nice visit to China.
