About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Calculating 240-Hour Visa

I am traveling from LAX to Chengdu (CTU) arriving at 1030am on November 16, 2025. The connection is in Beijing.
I travel from CTU to Shenzen (SZX) on November 22, this is non-stop.
I return to LAX on November 26 leaving at 2:05pm. The flight is Shenzen to Seoul Incheon (ICN).
I understand to determine 240 hours the time starts at 0000 on November 17, 2025. If this is the case, then I am eligible for the 240 Visa, if the connections PEK and ICN are eligible.

You have correctly counted your available days, just to confirm even this detail. It is important to understand that you will perform all your entry formalities in Beijing during your layover there. Here is what will you do in Beijing... Upon landing in Beijing these are the formalities in the exact order: upon your landing in Beijing the first thing that you will do will be to fill out arrival card. After that you will perform automatic fingerprinting. With a filled out arrival card and a fingerprinting receipt you will approach 24/240 hour visa free transit counter where you will apply for a temporary entry permit by presenting your flight tickets, filled out arrival card and fingerprinting receipt and a hotel booking confirmation (at least for the first night). It is advisable to have those details as printouts or at least as screenshots. This is all free of any charge. After a short check you will be granted a temporary entry permit and then you will cross the immigration and head to the gate for your flight to Chengdu. Your flight to Chengdu is purely a domestic one. Also, I encourage you to use correct terminology because this is not 240 hour visa, but 240 hour visa free transit or better to say, there is no visa of any kind involved at all.
