My 10 yr visa expires 7/16/25. I'm going to China in Oct.

I need my passport from Sept 19th thru Sept 28. I don't have my flights booked to China at this time. Do I have to have my flight in formation to apply for another 10yr VISA? Or, can I apply now without flight info? Or, can I extend the current visa 3 yrs (due to the covid offer) without flight information?
Thank you

Either a new 10-year visa or a 3-year one requires documents to support your entry purpose. If you haven’t booked a flight ticket, an invitation letter would be useful instead, and your previous China visa will also help.
