Visa

We are traveling to China in October with Viking Cruises. We are doing a 5 day excursion before the cruise starting in Beijing, then Xian. Ports on the cruise are Dalian, Qingdao, & Shanghai. We will be in China less than 10 days. Do we need a Visa?

The key point is that the previous stop before going to China and the next destination after the trip in China shouldn't be the same. If you fly from US to China and return to US after the cruise, then it's not eligible for the 240h visa-free transit. Will you fly back to US?
