About:China Transit Visa

I will be landing from Heathrow UK in Shanghai on Friday 16th May at 7.00am. I then leave on Saturday for Xian to Beijing for 8 days. Does this allow me to have the Transit Free Visa as my trip is within 240 hours??
On the following Saturday, 24th, I then depart for Japan for a 3 days, then I fly to Hong Kong and then back o Shanghai as my return flight to UK is Friday 30th May at 11am. Does this allow me to have the transit VISA?
