speed train at kowloon to guangzhou

I will land in hong kong international airport at 12.40pm and intend to take the airport express to Kowloon and then the speed rail to guangzhou. How long will it take to clear customs at hkia? Does the airport express has luggage compartment and do we do customs clearance also at Kowloon when we board the rail and then at Guangzhou when we disembark? What is the estimate time for me to reach Guangzhou? Thank you.

Normally it takes 10-30 minutes to go through the checks upon arrival depending on the waiting line. There is the luggage closet on the express train. You will go through all the checks of HK and Mainland China at West Kowloon High Speed Rail Station and disembark in Guangzhou without any check. The high speed train from HK to GZ takes about one hour and the express train to Kowloon from HKIA takes one hour and you need to walk for 10 minutes or so to West Kowloon Station. It's advised to arrive at West Kowloon one hour before train departure. So you may arrive at GZ at around 16:00 the earliest.
