About:Visa on Arrival

Mission hills area

Would this VOA work to visit Mission hills golf course. I think it is an hour from the Huanggang Port. Is it still consider in the ShenZhen area? Thank you!!

Where at the Huanggang Port would I be able to apply for this Visa? Would I be able to apply it the same day I travel? Would children under 10 be able to apply this VOA too? What are the steps and required documents for children traveling with parents?

Yes, Mission hills golf course belongs administratively to Shenzhen city/area and is allowed for a visit / stay to all those who have been issued a Shenzhen visa on arrival. You will be able to apply at the very same day when you arrive at the border crossing along with the children. Since the minors travel with their parents, the passports of both children and parents is all you need. When you arrive at Huanggang border crossing, you will apply for a visa at the mainland Chinese border crossing facility at the visa office that has opening hours from 09:00 until 16:30. Please, do not arrive late. It is advisable to be at the border crossing in the morning hours. There you will fill out the forms for all of you and the official will take a photos of you. After that you will pay 130 CNY for each of you by card only and shortly after that your visas will be granted. You will then proceed to Mission hills golf course or any other place within Shenzhen city limits to enjoy your time on your own. When your visit is over, you can return to Hong Kong by taking any border crossing or any mean of transport, high speed train included. Have a nice visit to Shenzhen.

Is it hard to find the mainland Chinese border crossing facility at the visa office? We are planning to travel via shuttle bus service. If the father of the children (my husband) travel with the children by himself? What documents would he need to bring along?

When I was googling it, it tells me Mission Hills Shenzhen is located in the town of Guanlan (觀瀾) in Shenzhen, between the cities of Shenzhen and Dongguan. Would it work with this visa? When I read between the cities, I am not sure.

Katie, Guanlan belongs to Longhua District that is a constituent district of Shenzhen City. Guanlan belongs to Shenzhen City without any doubt. You can look at it as the community council areas of Toronto are part (belong) of/to Toronto City (Etobicoke York, Toronto and East York, Scarborough...). You can proceed with absolute peace of mind.

Taking a shuttle bus via Huanggang border crossing is fine. You will easily find a visa office at the mainland Chinese side. Just follow the signs (Latin alphabet, English language) or simply ask, you will be directed there. Your husband can travel over the border with the children by having passports only. Hopefully the surnames are the same... It is advisable to cross the border in the morning hours, if possible. Please, just be a bit more relaxed than you seem to be :)
