About:10-year China Visa for US and Canadian Citizens

renewal of Chinese visa (category M)

I am a Canadian and I had a Chinese visa (M) until April 8 2025, but I renewed my passport recently. Consequently I am applying a new Chinese Visa with multiple entries (M-category). My meeting was planed between June and July 2025 possibly in Dalian, but the exact date is yet unknown. Should I wait until the travel date is set? (but to purchase airplane ticket I need a proof of Chinese Visa.....). Please let me know if I can still apply Chinese visa (M category with multiple entries) without the exact date of travel (but I can obtain a Chinese company's invitation letter for my visit).

According to the official, to apply for M visa, an invitation letter is enough and the flight ticket is not a must. I think you can apply as soon as you obtain the letter.
